The Human Printer prints digital images by hand. The printing service focuses on the tension between the systematic and the organic, where by marker pen is applied by hand on to tracing paper following the restrictive CMYK half tone structures used in digital printing.
The Human Printer, Naturfarbendruck utilises the first image ever to be printed using a halftone process ( a still life of fruit labelled Naturfarbendruck ) as a means to explore an alternative mediums for the process. Unlike marker pen, the application of watercolour is much harder to control as the medium is free-flowing. The tension between the systematic and organic then extends to include the printing structure, the hand and the medium.
